A talented artist afflicted with the ability to converse with ghosts tackles a series of grisly murders. Fuck, that summary is a bit short. Erm. Also, weird stuff happens. Really, it does. I am not kidding. Really weird stuff.
The artwork is good, but it feels as though the protagonist doesn't stay the same size throughout. She seems to grow in some scenes and shrink in others. Chances are, the alternation between baggy and skimpy clothes is what is throwing me off.
It's hard to say whether the graphic novel is secular. On one hand, its universe features ghosts and their channeling. On the other, there is no God, no angels, and no Reincarnation. My personal bias leans towards calling it secular.:)
In all of its 165 pages, it feels a bit short, but it's also quite affordable for a graphic novel. Damn, the bastards want me to pony over three appendages worth of money for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol2. Bugger that.
I recommend Spooked as a nice light read (or light parse or light scan or whatever it is one does with graphic novels).
